Dr. Sherry Johnson is a native of Quitman, Mississippi. She received her bachelor's degree in Business and Office Education from the University of West Alabama. She holds a master's degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia College and State University, a specialist degree in School Administration and Leadership, along with a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Leadership from Columbus State University.
In 1990, she began her teaching career at Jackson Middle School in Jackson, South Carolina. In 1993, she moved to Georgia and taught Keyboarding and Exploratory courses for seven years at Dooly County Middle School and coached middle and high school cheerleaders.
For eleven years she taught Business Education at Perry High School, where she served as Lead FBLA Adviser and department chair. During her years at Perry High she served as region FBLA adviser to several region officers, State FBLA Adviser to four state officers, including the 2007-2008 State FBLA President, as well as adviser to region, state, and national winners. She also served as the 2010-2011 Perry High Teacher of the Year, 2010 Georgia Business Education Association Teacher of the Year, and 2011 Southern Business Education Association Secondary Teacher of the Year.
She has been the Assistant Principal and CTAE Supervisor at Veterans High since 2011. Dr. Johnson and her husband, Jack, have two children, Trevor and Jaylon.
