Chad Simmons, Principal
The Houston County Board of Education named Chad Simmons as the Principal of Veterans High School during their meeting on February 10, 2026. Simmons currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Veterans High. He will begin this new role in June when current Principal, Dr. Amy Barbour, begins her role as a Director of School Operations for the Houston County School District. “I would like to thank Dr. Rogers, the Executive Cabinet, and our Board members for this tremendous opportunity. I look forward to continuing to uphold the Standard of Excellence at Veterans High School while building upon the strong legacy established during the school’s first 16 years,” said Simmons.
“I am both humbled and honored to work alongside such an outstanding faculty, staff, and student body. Together, we will remain focused on academic achievement, student growth, and meaningful opportunities in athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities so every student is prepared for success beyond graduation. I am excited to partner with our families and community as we continue to move Veterans High School forward.”
In 1999, Simmons began his career in teaching and coaching both football and baseball. Before joining Veterans High, Simmons served as an Assistant Principal at Northside High School. He also currently serves as the Athletic Director at Veterans High. Simmons received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1998. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Physical Education from Georgia Southwestern State University and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College in 2008.
He and his wife, Jenni, have three children: Ti, Lydi and Hudson.
Mark Antley, Assistant Principal
Dr. Mark Antley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Savannah State University. He is a veteran of the Department of the United States Navy/Marine Corps. He earned his Master and Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. Dr. Antley earned a Doctorate in Curriculum and Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.
Dr. Antley's educational experience includes teaching and coaching at Beaufort Middle School in Beaufort, South Carolina. His other experience was as an Assistant Principal and Mathematics Instructional Coach in Baldwin County where he also coached football and track. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and enjoys fishing.
Ashley Brock, Assistant Principal for Instruction
Mrs. Ashley Brock received her bachelor's degree in English from the University of Georgia in 2005. She also has a master's degree in accomplished teaching from Georgia Southern University and a degree in educational leadership from Valdosta State University. She returned home to Houston County to teach English at Warner Robins High School, where she worked for 11 years. She has received both gifted and advanced placement certification and taught all levels of high school English. She also coached cheerleading and served as the English Department Chair.
Mrs. Brock joined the Veterans High School staff as the Assistant Principal for Instruction in 2018. She lives in Perry with her husband, Zach and her daughter, Peyton.
Shawn Masters, Assistant Principal of Discipline
Mr. Masters lives in Warner Robins with his wife, Daphne and their two children, Darby and Brooks. He loves to hunt, fish, and play golf.
Dana Morris, Assistant Principal/CTAE Supervisor
She began her career in education as a math teacher at Houston County High School in 2005, then came to Veterans High School when it opened in 2010. Prior to transitioning into an administrative role, she taught various math courses throughout the years, including Honors Geometry and AP Statistics, and served as the Math Department Chair from 2019 to 2022.
Mrs. Morris is the wife of Tony Morris and the proud mother of two teenage boys, Harlen and Harrison Morris.
