Bio

Dr. Megan Jones earned her B.S. Ed in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Georgia ('11), her M.Ed in Secondary Education ('13) and Ed.S in Curriculum ('14) from Georgia College & State University. She earned her Doctorate of Curriculum and Instruction from Columbus State University ('24) with research involving academic performance among military-connected students while also evaluating the professional development needs among high school educators to best serve this subpopulation. She also holds certificates in leadership, reading, gifted education, and teacher support / coaching.

Dr. Jones is in her 16th year of teaching, all of which have been at Veterans, and is teaching AP English Literature in the 2026-27 school year. Additionally, she serves as the school's gifted lead teacher, sponsors National English Honor Society, and facilitates the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. She was named a Top 5 Finalist for the 2024-25 Teacher of the Year in Houston County.

Dr. Jones is the proud mom of two boys: Carson and Clark. Outside of the classroom, she loves traveling, watching Georgia football, playing mahjong, and spending time with friends and family.
