What is the Eligibility Center?

The NCAA Initial Eligibility Center is an organization that works with the NCAA to determine a student's eligibility for athletic participation in his or her first year of college enrollment. Students who want to participate in college sports during their first year of college must register with the Eligibility Center at the end of their Junior year of high school. The Eligibility Center staff follow NCAA bylaws and regulations in analyzing and processing a student's high school academic records, SAT or ACT scores, and key information about amateur participation to determine the student's initial eligibility.

Certification:

If you intend to participate in Division I or II athletics as a freshman, you must register and be certified by the Eligibility Center.

Registration Process:

The only method is online registration at www.eligibilitycenter.org. The student myst complete the registration online, pay the registration fee, send official transcripts from all high schools attended, and send official SAT/ACT scores directly from the testing center to the eligibility center.
